In the La Mancha locality of Villamanrique, near the road of Almuradiel and the tower of Juan Abad, you can find this singular estate which possesses more than 400 hectares of vineyard.
The plantations are of Tempranillo, Grenache and Cabernet Sauvignon. Their cultivation is carried out through dry farming.
The estate is situated at 850 m above sea level, with an annual average temperature of 13’5º C and an annual average rainfall of 494 mm. Due to its altitude there are extreme temperatures between day and night both in winter and in summer, which beneficially affects the fruit evolution cycle.
The thermal regime is moderate warm and the humidity regime is humid Mediterranean.
The vineyard is situated on a sandy soil with margous-clayey intercalations and even gypsum. The soil has a sandy-clayey texture with a small organic content and certain stony characteristics.
The plantation is made of ungrafted vines (plots of 3x1,5 m) and dates back to 1974.
The average age of the vineyard is 30 years, with a production between 2500 and 3000 kg/hectares, although there are some areas with a production of 750 kg/hectares, which is where Kios Elite is produced, marked by the peculiarity of the soil.
